Demand for self-build plots deliberately downplayed by many local authorities

Many local authorities are failing to register demand for self-build plots, and in some cases are actively making it harder for people to show their interest in building their own home.
New research by the National Custom and Self-Build Association (NaCSBA) has found that since April 2016, 40,000 people have signed up to the Right To Build registers across England.
Although impressive, NaCSBA believes this is far short of the real underlying demand for self-build plots. Read more…
